Fleet services

We manage light and heavy vehicles for most government agencies including:

  • buying
  • disposal (selling used vehicles)
  • vehicle maintenance.

We engage the private sector to supply services for maintenance and sale of government vehicles.

Buy a used government vehicle at auction

Surplus government vehicles are sold at fortnightly public auctions.

These auctions are held in Darwin (Winnellie) and Alice Springs at the Pickles Auctions facilities.

If you want to buy a vehicle, you can bid in person at either location or online.

Vehicles not sold at auction are available to buy online through Pickles Auctions.

For more information go to the Pickles Auctions website.

Apply to gift or loan a government vehicle

Each year, government vehicles scheduled to be sold are made available for gifting or loaning to eligible community groups.

Community groups can apply to gift or loan a government vehicle through the Community Benefit Fund program.

Two separate rounds are advertised each year.

For more information, go to the vehicle gifts community benefit fund page.
